Spinal Cord Injury Collaboration – Nepal (SpiNepal) was awarded a three-year International Development, Aid and Collaboration (IDAC) Grant from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada – RCPS(C) totalling CAD90,000 for its project: A Physical Medicine Residency by, in and for Nepal.
SpiNepal works closely with the Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC) near Kathmandu, Nepal’s first and only specialized spinal injury unit, to help train doctors in the care of spinal cord injury.
The funding will assist in the recognition and care of people with severe disabilities in Nepal.

The incredible work of SpiNepal was recognized with the UBC President’s Award in 2020 for distinguished service by UBC Emeriti and was profiled by the UBC Vice-Provost International in 2021.
