Undergraduate Research Scholarship for Indigenous and Underrepresented Students
The purpose of this top-up scholarship is to help fund a stipend for an Indigenous undergraduate student, or if no suitable candidate is found, for underrepresented undergraduate students who will be working on any topic of research within the Department of Orthopaedics at UBC over a summer work term (May- Aug). The student must be supervised by a Professor/clinician within the Department of Orthopaedics.
Amount: $2,500 CAD
Applications are due in March annually.
Tredwell Trainee READI Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to serve as an incentive for a Department of Orthopaedics Resident to complete a project in the area of respect, equity, accessibility, diversity, and inclusion (READI) in Orthopaedics. This can be done over the summer term but there is flexibility to adjust the schedule to the Resident’s availability during the scholarship term (Spring 2023-Spring 2024). The resident would be expected to present the project at the annual departmental Research Resident Day.
Amount: $2,500 CAD
Applications are due in March annually.
