UBC Drs. Shadgan and Guy receive 2024–2025 Cy Frank Award for research on a non-invasive diagnostic method for lower leg chronic exertional compartment syndrome

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Carrie Kollias has joined the UBC Department of Orthopaedics as Co-Director, Mentorship and Wellness and Clinical Associate Professor beginning January 1, 2025. She joins Dr. Alastair Younger, Co-Director, Mentorship & Wellness and Dr. Tym Frank, Assistant Director, Mentorship & Wellness.

UBC GO Spotlight – USTOP Team 2024
In this special spotlight, we learn about the 2024 USTOP team, highlighting their unique experiences and discoveries from the trip. USTOP (Uganda Sustainable Trauma Orthopaedic Program) brings together a passionate team of surgeons, nurses, and physical therapists from institutions, including UBC and McMaster University, to provide sustainable orthopaedic care through local capacity-building and hands-on education.

The Department of Orthopaedics was honoured to host Dr. Daniel Berry from the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota , as the inaugural Dr. Clive Duncan Visiting Professor on November 20, 2024.
