Faculty Spotlight – Lauren Roberts

Meet Dr. Lauren Roberts! She is an assistant professor with the UBC Department of Orthopaedics and an orthopaedic surgeon at Burnaby Hospital. Dr. Roberts’ love of science, varsity sports, and competitive synchronized swimming led her to a graduate degree in kinesiology, orthopaedic residency at UBC, and a foot-and-ankle fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Faculty Spotlight – Ashlee Dobbe

Meet Dr. Ashlee Dobbe! She is a clinical assistant professor with the UBC Department of Orthopaedics and an orthopedic surgeon at Kelowna General Hospital in the BC Interior. Dr. Dobbe has travelled to Ecuador as part of Canadian Medical Teams Abroad and recently joined the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue Team (COSAR).

Faculty Spotlight – Shal Arneja

Meet Dr. Shal Arneja! He is a clinical instructor with the UBC Department of Orthopaedics and an orthopedic surgeon at Cowichan District Hospital on Vancouver Island. As a child, Dr. Arneja knew that he wanted to pursue orthopaedics. He fell in love with the west coast and the UBC Orthopaedic Program, so when the opportunity arose, he and his family moved to Cowichan Valley where he started an arthroscopy and athletic injuries program.

Trainee Spotlight – Sirat Khan

Meet Dr. Sirat Khan! He is an Upper Extremity Clinical Fellow with the UBC Department of Orthopaedics, Division of Distal Extremities at St Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. Dr. Khan grew up on the South East England and completed his medical training in London. As he nears the end of his clinical fellowship, he share his experience of the program in this Department Spotlight.
