Faculty Spotlight – Emily Schaeffer
Meet Dr. Emily Schaeffer! She is a Research Associate with the UBC Department of Orthopaedics and Research Director for Pediatric Orthopaedics at BC Children’s Hospital. Her research focuses on pediatric orthopaedic hip conditions and musculoskeletal trauma. She currently runs the Hippy Global Registry Program, which includes registries on developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) and slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE).

We are proud to share that two members of our department have been recognized as global experts in developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) and congenital hip dislocation. HIPpy Research Team’s mission is to diagnose and detect hip dysplasia and hip dislocation in new born babies within their first three months.
