Dr. Lisa Howard joined the division of reconstructive orthopaedic surgery at UBC in 2018. She is currently a clinical instructor and specializes in complex hip and knee arthroplasty reconstruction. Dr. Howard completed her undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University and medical degree at UBC. She remained at UBC for her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery and completed two subspecialty fellowship years in upper extremity at the University of Ottawa in 2017 and lower extremity reconstruction at UBC in 2018. Her primary research focus is on alternative pain control methods after arthroplasty with a focus on opioid reduction as well as the creation of a complications database in arthroplasty. She is actively involved in resident and fellow clinical education in addition to research mentorship. She is currently completing as Masters in Health Science at UBC.
