About:
The Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of British Columbia is a world-renowned orthopaedic fellowship designed to provide a complete experience in arthroscopic reconstruction in an academic tertiary referral setting. It offers high-volume clinical exposure to arthroscopic reconstruction of the knee, shoulder and hip. The faculty also perform significant numbers of shoulder arthroplasty, elbow reconstruction as well as osteotomy, cartilage and meniscal transplantation around the knee.
The fellowship is based at the academic hospitals affiliated with the University of British Columbia, along with satellite ambulatory surgery centers in the lower mainland of Vancouver. Clinical commitments are rostered so as to provide for an intensive and efficient professional experience. The fellow will be expected to be involved in some collegiate and professional sports coverage.
Requirements:
Academic responsibilities include participation in weekly rounds, resident seminar series, and teaching for both resident and undergraduate students. Involvement in a research project with the ultimate goal of publication and presentation at a major scientific meeting is required.

Highlights:
The fellowship provides diverse exposure to the treatment and care of patients with activity related musculoskeletal injuries. The fellow will participate in approximately 500 operative cases during the year, with extensive experience as the primary operating surgeon. Previous fellows have gone on to have highly successful careers in major institutions worldwide.
