Dr. Viskontas is an orthopaedic surgeon at the University of British Columbia with fellowship training in orthopaedic sports surgery at the Adidas Sports Medicine Clinic in Auckland, New Zealand, knee sports and joint replacement surgery at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia and orthopaedic trauma at Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington in Seattle, WA.

Currently, he has a subspecialty practice in orthopaedic trauma and lower extremity reconstruction based out of the Royal Columbian, Eagle Ridge and Burnaby hospitals. He treats acute upper and lower extremity orthopaedic injuries, including pelvic and acetabular fractures, patients with orthopaedic infections, non-united and malaligned fractures and performs deformity correction surgery. His elective practice involves knee ligament, meniscal and cartilage surgery and hip and knee replacements.

Dr. Viskontas holds an appointment as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. He teaches medical students, residents and fellows through his clinical practice, tutorials and lectures. He is involved in orthopaedic research relating to orthopaedic trauma at a local, national and international level and presents and lectures at meetings and conferences.
