Dr. Landells currently holds the rank of Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Orthopaedics, UBC with a cross appointment of Associate Professor, Island Medical Program, University of Victoria, BC. He has been practicing Orthopaedic Surgery in Victoria, BC since 1996 with a sub-specialty interest in shoulder surgery and sport medicine. He is a founding member of RebalanceMD, a multi-disciplinary clinic for musculoskeletal care in Victoria, BC.

Originally from Newfoundland, Dr. Landells completed his undergraduate medical education plus two years post-graduate residency in Internal Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He then transferred to the University of British Columbia for his Orthopaedic Education. Upon completion of his fellowship sub-specialty training at the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Landells returned to Newfoundland where he practiced from 1989-1996. While there he achieved the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics, Memorial University and was the Head of the Division of Orthopaedics at the St. John’s General Hospital, 1994-1996.

In 1996 Dr. Landells relocated his practice to Victoria, BC. He was the Head of the Division of Orthopaedics Surgery for Vancouver Island Health Authority (now Island Health) from 2008-2013. Throughout his professional career Dr. Landells has been dedicated to Orthopaedic Education at the Undergraduate and Post-Graduate levels. He was the Discipline Specific Site Leader for Orthopaedic Education at the University of Victoria. More recently he was involved with Physician Quality Improvement at the Island Health Authority. Throughout his career he has also been involved as team Orthopaedic Surgeon at the university, national, and professional levels. He was also the team Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Victoria Royals Hockey Team, WHL.
