Dr. Jong was born and raised in the Lower Mainland and spent his childhood in the Tri-Cities, where most of his family still resides. He pursued his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at SFU before moving on to UBC for medical school, graduating in 2013. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at UBC in 2018, followed by two years of subspecialty fellowship training. He spent one year at the University of Iowa, focusing on foot and ankle surgery, and another year at the Pan Am Clinic in Winnipeg for sports surgery. After starting practice in Ontario, he returned to BC and joined the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at Peace Arch Hospital in September of 2022.
