
As an official representative from Canada, Dr. Babak Shadgan, a faculty member of the Department of Orthopaedics, is assigned to direct medical coverage of Olympic Styles Wrestling Competitions at the 2022 Common Wealth Games, held in Birmingham, UK, August 2–8, 2022.
He will supervise and lead an expert medical team—consisting of orthopaedic surgeons, emergency physicians, sports physicians and physiotherapists—that takes care of the pre-entry medical examination of all wrestlers and medical coverage of wrestling training and competitions in Birmingham.
This is Dr. Shadgan’s second time participating at the Common Wealth Games as a Medical Director after the 2014 Glasgow Games.
