We are proud to share that UBC Orthopaedics Clinical Associate Professor, Dr. Andrea Veljkovic, has been awarded the prestigious American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) Women’s Leadership Award for 2021. Dr. Veljkovic was the co-winner of this award along with Dr. Barbara Piclet-Legre from Marseilles, France. This global award recognizes outstanding women in foot and ankle orthopaedics.
The Department is extremely proud of Dr. Veljkovic’s leadership in orthopaedics. As an incredibly caring clinician, she is a visionary leader, teacher, and an amazing female role model in a historically male orthopaedic specialty. Dr. Veljkovic is a prime example of someone who is actively changing and enriching orthopaedics. She is a tremendous ambassador for orthopaedics both locally at UBC, and globally.
